Q: As recommended in the documentation, we turned on the ``Network Time Standard'' feature in NetInfoManager. Now one machine is our time server and all other machines are time clients. This is great, except that I can't set the time on the time server with the Preferences application. It tells me time service is running and I should click the ``Synchronize'' button. So, how do I set the time on the Network Time Server?

A: The only way to set the time on Network Time Servers is to use the date command from a shell. See the Unix man pages for more information on date. For more information see ``Configuring Network Time Service'' in Chapter 3 of the NeXTSTEP Network and System Administration Manual.
